Chris Perez is a Canadian based Filipino artist practicing abstract painting and mural art. Perez pushes moments of arbitrary movement to create an inner dialogue with material and environment, like that of an abstract dance with painting. Chris works mostly as a painter using his experience as a house painter towards creating large scale murals. He is currently exploring ideas behind personal and cultural identity using abstraction that touches on the aesthetics of floral motifs.

Impulsive expressionism.
Moments of movement. Spray Paint. The exploration of self-dialogue with material and atmosphere grants moments of incidental and intentional aesthetics. Art continues to form an inner dialogue between viewer and content. The unconscious movement through painting produces a learning experience for the audience and the artist. Visual elements and aesthetics within one’s control, judged, and defined. Allow oneself to interact with the uncontrollable, to embrace the sense of boundless energy.
