Yujin Lee
Yujin Lee (b.1986) is a visual artist working across drawing, performance, video, and collaboration. Interested in relational art, automatic drawing, Korean shaman paintings, and the Buddhist concept of yuanqi (interdependent co-arising), Lee’s collaborative endeavors include a performance video with ballerina Emi Hariyama, 108 Bows (2013), an essay film video with visual artist Nicole Won Hee Maloof, Same/Difference (2015), virtual collaboration with visual artist Aracha Cholitgul, @im_there_r_u_here (2020~ongoing), and interdisciplinary project with performance artist Jo Ahra, BeMuse (2021~ongoing). In the beginning of 2019, Lee moved into her farmhouse-turned-international-artist-residence, Next Door to the Museum Jeju. She hopes to share this alternative live/work environment with other creative minds to explore process-oriented, relational art practice that merges the boundary of art and life.
